An Emergency Medical Technician provides out of hospital emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical services (EMS) system. The EMT has the basic knowledge and skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport patients ranging from non-emergency and routine medical transports to life threatening emergencies.

The purpose of the Council is to co-ordinate Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in Kenya.

One becomes a member by registration.

KCEMT is an organisation for prehospital care providers.

By registering for the course in one of the accredited agencies.

No KCEMT does not offer the training. It accredits agencies to run the course.

EMTs work in an ambulance, at the Accidents and Emergency section of hospitals, as safety officers in organisations among other areas
